Our classes have been successful because of the cooperation and ongoing communication with all the studio users and we thank you for that. It is our hope that all students and staff continue to feel safe in our studios and for that we ask for your ongoing efforts in helping us enforce the policies we have in place. See Protocol and Policies here.
Winter 24 Registration will open on November 24th at 10:00am
Ceramic Lottery Registration
The registration for our ceramic courses has been a stressful experience for both students and staff. To avoid website crashes due to high traffic, we have decided to implement a lottery system for our ceramic courses as a temporary solution until we can move registration to a better platform.
The sign up for the lottery will open on November 17th at 10:00am and will close on November 24th at 10:00am. The link will be posted below and in every course page.
We apologize for the unpredictability of this system but appreciate your collaboration and understanding.
Registration for non-ceramic courses will remain the same and can be done through our website on November 24th at 10:00am.
To sign up to our ceramic course lottery follow these instructions:
If you have any questions regarding the studios, please contact the Studio Coordinator at:

Waitlists: We maintain a waitlist for each course and encourage students to add themselves to it. If we have enough students and if there is a day available in the schedule with an instructor available to teach, we will run a second class.
Accessibility: Some of the workshops we offer can be physically demanding. If you have any accessibility concerns, please do not hesitate to call the Centre to discuss these concerns prior to registering.
As of July 6th, 2022, Craft Nova Scotia and the Centre for Craft have decided to maintain our masking policy within our facilities.
Please click HERE to see our “Protocols & Policies” page for Health Protocols.
As a not-for-profit organization with a small team, we are extremely grateful that we are able to make this shift online to make signing up easier for everyone. We hope you can all help us keep growing by being patient when issues do arise.
Thank you so much for your support!
We’re temporarily pausing our Ceramic Open Studios for review. We appreciate your understanding during this transition
Jewellery Open Studio Program
Fall Term: September 15th to December 2nd, 2023. No session on October 7th, and November 11th.
Our Open Studio program provides the space for artists, both hobbyists and professionals, to carry out self-directed work using our tools, resources and equipment. They run on Saturdays from 10am to 5pm, with a 1- hour break between 1pm and 2pm at the Centre for Craft studios located at 1096 Marginal Road.
Artists are able to purchase Open Studio hourly passes on our website and use them individually at their convenience. Once purchased, you will be provided with a link to sign up to Open Studio Hours within 1-3 business days. Please note that once you submit a sign-up form, you have reserved your space and won’t receive confirmation from our staff. If you need to make a cancellation, we suggest doing it 48 hours before the Open Studio session. In the case of a cancellation, the Open Studio artist will keep their hours.
First-time studio visitors need to dedicate the first 15 minutes of their first hour to a mandatory orientation.
While there will be a technician present to troubleshoot, attendees need to be able to use the equipment by themselves. Artists must bring their own materials and are encouraged to bring their own tools but are welcome to use the ones in our studios.
For artists looking to cast ingots, there will be a $5 gas fee to be paid in cash at the time of their session.
Craft Nova Scotia Members are eligible for a 15% discount. To claim it contact studio.coordinator@craftnovascotia.ca
