During this workshop, we will use traditional bookbinding techniques to make miniature books. By definition, miniature books are less than 3″ in any dimension. We will make three different books, of three different sizes, using three different binding techniques. Printed texts will be provided so the finished books will contain short texts, poems, etc. Students can choose to make blank books if they prefer. In addition to being small, fully functional books, miniature bookbinding techniques are suitable for making books to use as dollhouse props, ornaments, and pendants.
Materials Include: various papers, PVA glue, linen thread, book board and mat board, findings, printed texts, book cloth, endbands, mull, rice paste.
