Students will learn the fundamentals of ceramics by make fun projects to take home! Students will learn the basic techniques of hand-building and throwing on the pottery wheel. They will also be encouraged to experiment and to use their imagination to create unique projects of mugs, bowls, ceramic planters, plates, pins, and small sculptures.
Danielle Harris-Daoust is a Ceramic and Textile artist based in the ancestral unceded Mi’kmaq territory. They graduated from NSCAD University with a BFA, majoring in Ceramics. Their sculptural work focuses on mental health and self-expression using a variety of mediums. Danielle is enthusiastic and passionate about art, sustainability, and social justice. Their classroom is a safe space for LGBTQ2S+, MAD, Disabled and BIPOC individuals to express themselves creatively without judgment or harm. Danielle is passionate about craft and DIY culture which enables individuals to create sustainably handmade objects for themselves and their community.
