Students will learn the basic techniques of working with clay from wheel thrown to hand building. This course will allow students to develop a style of work and experiment with various surface textures and decoration.
Kaas (Kaashif) Ghanie was born in London Ontario in 1989. He received his Bachelors of Fine Art in Ceramics, at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University as well as Minor in Art History. Originally his practice was working in interdisciplinary methods, in the realm of sculpture and drawing, it was not until NSCAD Ceramics where he was introduced to clay. Highly intrigued by the ceramic process and making Ghanie was hooked into wheel throwing large vessels.
